"Entertainment Lighting Design
and Technologies "
Education Program
Presented by Richard K. Davis, LC
In this session, we will briefly explore the basic principles of lighting design
for theatre, video, dance, and concert productions – how they are similar
and how they are different. By exploring direction, texture, and color, we
will develop and understanding of the similarities between entertainment
lighting design and many of the techniques we use in architectural lighting
layout. We will explore basic lighting control system layout and design, and
will briefly venture into evolving technologies toward energy efficiency in
production lighting.
